A place to build this together

The NØNOS community is now on Discord. A place to boot the beta, report from real hardware, and grow the driver base in the open.

NØNOS shipped its first public beta a few days ago, and the most useful thing to happen since has been people booting it on machines we have never seen. A serial log from someone else's laptop tells us more than a week of our own testing. So we opened a place for that to happen out loud.

It is set up the way the project is. The run channels each have the exact, tested command pinned, QEMU, VirtualBox, and real hardware, so you can boot without hunting through the docs. The verify channel walks you through checking the image against the published checksums and the attestation bundle, because the whole point is that you do not take our word for it. The development channels are where the real work happens, drivers first, since growing the driver base is what makes more machines just work.

We are honest about where the beta is rough. If the browser stalls in VirtualBox, if a driver does not come up on your hardware, if the boot loops on the rollback floor, that is exactly what we want to hear. Bring the serial log, or a photo of the on-screen markers, and we will dig into it with you.

This is an early beta, built in the open, and it grows one fix and one report at a time. If you have booted it, if you want to, or if you just want to read the code and tell us where we are wrong, come in.
